It was a long time ago. Let bygones be bygones.
Without ever apologizing,
never owning up.
Just hoping the once-seedlings would never speak up.
Listen here, seed-turned-into-a-luscious-flower:
Hold in that pain long enough,
Divine finna make you exude it.
Speak up.
Take back your power and use it.
Cease their joy in your silence, hoping to continue to abuse it.
Speak up
before it seeps into dangerous actions,
life-threatening transactions or worse—
innocent folk will catch your unspoken hurt.
