Spring is here, and it's the perfect time to deep clean your apartment. A good spring cleaning can help you start the season off fresh and give your home a new lease on life. Of course home owners can use these tips too.
Here are three tips to help you get started:
1. Make a plan
Before you begin, make a plan of action. Start by breaking your cleaning tasks into manageable chunks. For example, you can clean one room at a time or tackle one task at a time, such as cleaning all the windows in your apartment. Make a list of everything you need to do, and set aside enough time to complete each task. This will help you stay focused and motivated as you work through your cleaning tasks. EVEYR TASK DOESN’T HAVE TO BE COMPLETED IN ONE! Even if you’re just cleaning all the counters in your kitchen, throwing away all stuff in the kitchen is enough for one day. Take your time.
2. Declutter
Spring cleaning is the perfect time to de-clutter your apartment. Go through each room and get rid of anything you no longer need or use. This includes clothes that no longer fit, old magazines and newspapers (I ain’t gettin’ rid of MY ol newspapers though…HELL Nah), and any other items that are taking up space. Donate items that are still in good condition to charity, and throw away anything that is no longer usable.
3. Deep clean
Once you've decluttered, it's time to deep clean. Start with the floors and work your way up. Vacuum or sweep and mop all the floors in your apartment, and clean the baseboards and walls. Maybe I’m old school, but for spring cleanin, I leave the Swiffer alone and just mop. In my opinion, Swiffer (or swiffer alternatives) doesn’t get everything that a broom or mop would. Anywho… Dust all surfaces, including shelves, picture frames, and electronics. Don't forget to clean your windows, mirrors, and light fixtures. Finally, clean your kitchen and bathroom thoroughly, including the appliances and fixtures.
Spring cleaning your apartment may seem like a daunting task, but with these three tips, you'll be able to tackle it with ease. Remember to make a plan, declutter, and deep clean to get your apartment looking and feeling fresh and clean. Happy cleaning!
